For over 2 years I taught Mathematics and Physics at the university level. I taught years 12 and 13 Mathematics and Physics. I have also taught Mathematics and Physics to secondary school students at all grade levels.
For 5 years I have prepared students to take terminal examinations. At All American Institute of Medical Sciences (AAIMS) I taught University Mathematics and Physics. My pass rate was almost 100% for both subject areas. At AAIMS I taught students who came from countries such as India, Nigeria, Libya, Trinidad, America and Jamaica. At Knox Community College I taught university Mathematics and some of my students obtained almost perfect scores overall. At Knox College one of my students got a national award for outstanding performance. His award was associated with the most challenging pre-university course (inclusive of both Mathematics and Physics) offered in the Caribbean. At Denbigh High School almost 100% of my students passed year 12 Physics.
At AAIMS the Physics and Mathematics courses were paperless. All resources prepared for the students were delivered to them electronically. All assessments were prepared and done electronically as well. The students were thoroughly assessed each week using daily quizzes and weekly tests. These assessments encouraged the students to continuously revise. Hence, preparation for final examination was carried out throughout the duration of the courses.
I practice being at classes at least a half hour before classes and I remain a half hour afterwards. I notice that this routine encourages my students to arrive early and engage me in discussions about the lesson after the end of the sessions.
For over 5 years I worked with a variety of learners. I have worked with students who love Mathematics and Physics as well as those who dislike these subjects. I have worked with students who are self-motivated as well as those that I have to motivate to produce a high standard of performance. I have worked with students who are gifted as well as those who face learning challenges and exhibit other behavioral challenges.
I am the only student who has ever done a double major in Mathematics and Physics at The Mico University College. My supervisors were amazed that I got all the courses done in four years so that I was able to graduate with my batch-mates. I was even able to obtain an upper second class honors degree.
I am a dedicated, industrious individual who loves Mathematics and Physics. I also love teaching these subjects. I practice to prepare well for my classes and deliver each lesson to the best of my abilities. I also make it a habit of ensuring my administrative tasks are carried out well and submitted in a timely manner.
