Christine W.
I am very outgoing, personable, upbeat and have a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoy learning and obtaining skills on just about everything. I enjoy the outdoors, music & movies (all genres), mostly anything to do with the automotive industry (obtaining my mechanics is on my bucket list), writing & reading, and especially baking & cooking from recipes of all cultures. I am mechanically and technically inclined, creative and resourceful. Last but not least. I am very much a people person who thoroughly enjoys and takes pride in seeing all people individually; and listening to their story to ensure the appropriate support is delivered specific to all their needs. I have met a lot of amazing individuals thus far in my travels; and I look forward to meeting a whole lot more.
I have over 18 years experience as a support worker in a variety of diverse settings with individualistic needs to be met. I have worked as a special education assistant, provided support for adults with mental health diagnoses in day programs, group homes, hospital, vocational & recreational environments and respite care in my own home. I also provided 24 hour care (4 on 4 off) for youth at risk. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: From November until recently I had the opportunity to provide live-in home care for a woman diagnosed with a brain tumor. I am ever so thankful and grateful to have had the opportunity to provide such support for her and all persons involved in her life. Home support on a hospice level is a uniquely supportive role which I excelled at and proved to come naturally for me. Being adaptable, personable, upbeat, communicative, intuitive and proactive; I would be an asset to any individual and family who need require any type of support.
