Hello there, my name is Erica, a 21-year-old woman from Red Deer. Currently, I am in my second year as a nursing student, with four years of work experience in health care already under my belt. My journey thus far has instilled in me a deep passion for caring for and assisting others, and my desire to further apply these skills has prompted me to look for additional opportunities outside my academic environment. I have a wealth of experience working with and caring for people of all ages, backgrounds and life stories. I am highly skilled in the areas of patient care such as oxygen administration, ambulation assistance, dressing and grooming, toileting assistance, as well as palliative and dementia care, among many others. I also bring a great deal of experience in household duties including housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation. More than the technical aspects of care, I deeply value the interpersonal connections that I form with individuals I work with, experiences which enable my personal and professional growth as well as contributing positively to their lives. I am open to part-time opportunities in home health care environments, retirement homes, or clinics and hospitals, offering my caregiver and companionship services or my abilities as a personal support worker. I am available on varying days throughout the week and bring the convenience of transportation with my reliable vehicle. Despite my young age, I've worked with patients with a range of diagnoses such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, paralysis, and many more. I believe that my ongoing nursing studies, coupled with this experience, equips me well to provide comprehensive care. It's important to mention that I do not currently have a police check. However, I am a committed non-smoker, an excellent swimmer, have a strong ability to work with children with disabilities, and can assist with pet care. I have worked in multiple long term care facilities since the beginning of COVID. I have mostly worked with dementia and Alzheimer but I am willing to work with anyone. I am very passionate about senior care and am planning on specializing in it after I get my BScN.

I am currently a nursing student in my second year on my way to get my Nursing degree.
