I come from a big family of 8 children. Raised by caring and supportive parents who instilled in us good moral values. Personally, I can say that I am a caring, patient, well organized, hard-working, honest and trustworthy kind of person. I enjoyed the outdoor (especially taking a walk) but it doesn't mean that I will be bored indoor. I am more of a listener than a talker but leave me with the kids and I can be as talkative as they are. I am single but I love kids. They turned me into a marshmallow but I am firm if necessary. I am not just a nanny but I am a nanny with a passion of contributing something positive to the molding of a child's character. Of course this is all for me to know and for you to find out if you will consider of hiring me. :) Usually I take my cues and feedback first from the parents. Then I study the behaviour and character of the children so I will know how to handle them. I am patient but if needed I am authoritative as well. I play with them and talk to them always because I believe talking and listening to them builds trust and confidence. I always give feedback to parents whether kids did bad or good at the end of the day so parents will know how their kids get by all day. I consider communicating to the parents about the kids' attitudes as very important. why? so, correction, encouragement and development of the kids well-being will be implemented.

I began my work as a housekeeper and companion to a very nice and gentle elderly man whom I considered as a father. I worked for him for almost 5 years. As his housekeeper, I made sure that the house is impeccably clean. I am quite a fussy person ( so they say :) ) but I just want the house where I am, to be neat and organized. I considered the house of my employer as my own so I want it to be apt to my standard. Besides living in a neat, clean and well organized surroundings brings happiness, calmness and peace within. During my 4th year working with him, sad to say that he had an aneurysm. So my work shifted a little bit from being his housekeeper to a caregiver. As a carer, being him as a bedridden at that time, I looked after for his well being. I made sure that he was comfortable in his bed. Turning him from time to time so he won't develop a bedsore, gave him a bed bath, etc.. In short, all the necessary works to be done in order for him to be comfortable while he was confined in his bed. The next job I had was taking care of a 95 year old elderly man who had an alzheimer's disease in a nursing home. My job as a companion was to make sure that he will will not feel alone. I always talked to him and asked him questions so his brain and memory will be stimulated somehow. I always bring him outside of the facility so he could enjoy the sceneries and fresh air when the weather permits. I bring him to group activities( music, dance and singing). I also made sure that he is always clean and comfortable( dressed up nicely), and maintain the cleanliness of his beddings and his room as always. Motivated him to eat as well. I always informed his wife about his well being and let them talk on the phone whenever the wife can't visit so she will know how her husband get by at the end of the day. Before my shift ends, I made sure that his teeth were brushed, freshly changed diaper comfortably in his pajama. It made me fulfilled and happy going home knowing that I made Markus( that is his name) happy each day and making his life comfortable on a daily basis. unfortunately, he died two days after I left on my vacation :( He was very kind and nice person and I loved him like my grandfather. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing your loved ones happy and contented. whether they remember or not today's event or whether they are confined in bed with a limited mobility and still embraces and enjoys life daily. :) That is my aim when working with the elderly people. After all, we will go through the elderly stage someday if God permits and I always believe that what you sow, you reap and do to others what you wanted others to do to you. :)
