Hello, my name is Roy Obwoge. I am a resolute, compassionate, and dedicated caregiver based in Saint-Leonard, seeking full-time work in the field of home health care, retirement homes, or clinical/hospital settings. I am 26 years old and fully committed to offering the capacity for immediate start.
For the past two years, I've been providing care to patients dealing with a range of diagnoses including but not limited to Speech Impairment, Dialysis, Pneumonia, Cancer, Stroke, and Diabetes. I have also worked extensively with visually impaired patients, paralysed patients, amputees, and those suffering from malnutrition and Decubitus Ulcers. Comfortable in different care settings, I can effectively perform duties such as Ambulation Assistance, Heavy Patient lifting & transfer, Hoyer lift operation, Bathing and Dressing Assistance, Groceries and Errands, Housekeeping, and more specialized tasks like Alzheimer/Dementia Care, Palliative Care, Parkinson Care, Lifts and Transfers, Tube Feeding, and Catheter/Colostomy care.
Bringing a flexible schedule to your service, I am available throughout the week including mornings, mid-day, evenings, and nights. I am prepared for both Live-in and Live-out arrangements as I am open to relocation and am capable of travelling as required for my role. I also have my driver's license and do not smoke, ensuring a clean and respectful environment at all times.
I hold various certifications such as Home Support Worker and Caregiver/Companion. My academic background extends to college level, adding a solid foundational knowledge to my practical patient-centric approach. I also have experience working with children with disabilities, thus adding a wider spectrum to my caregiving capabilities. My primary language is English, which allows me to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
I hope to bring my skills and dedication to a role where I can continue to make meaningful contributions to patient care. Looking forward to opportunities as a Caregiver/Companion or Personal Support Worker. Please note that I have successfully completed a police check and I am authorized to work in Africa. I am passionately committed to supporting those needing care and look forward to providing that aid.
I have learnt how to be patient and listen and be supportive, also professional and responsible to do my duty and take care of them both. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential for working in care. Also being able to listen and understand allows you to be an efficient carer.
