Hello! My name is Melanie, a compassionate and dedicated health care professional hailing from Mission. I embody a firm belief that everyone deserves a happy and fulfilling life no matter the circumstances they are in. I have spent the last two years gaining practical experience in providing exceptional care to patients battling various conditions including dementia, diabetes, speech, hearing and visual impairments. My availability spans from Monday to Friday, predominantly in the mornings and middle of the day. I am open to work travel although I prefer not to relocate. My passion for health care extends beyond basic patient care. I adeptly assist with tasks around the house such as housekeeping, laundry, and meal planning. I also provide support with tasks like toileting, bathing, grooming, and lifts and transfers. I offer a holistic care service; from planning visits, outings and trips to provide patients with engaging social experiences. My skills extend to taking care of pets too! I boast of a solid foundation in health care with a Caregiver / Companion education, as well as First Aid and CPR certifications. I am a non-smoker who speaks English fluently and possesses a clean police record. The work set-ups I'm interested in include Home Health Care, Retirement Homes, and Clinics/ Hospitals. I am eager to offer my services in a full-time, live-out arrangement as a Caregiver / Companion or Personal Support Worker. I currently work for Mission Association For Community Living. I work with a day program for adults with developmental and physical disabilities where we organize and execute a variety of activities within the program as well as out in the community.
