In the Philippines, I studied a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and completed internships in various fields, which included guidance counseling, micro-teaching, human resources, and a clinical setting. I worked in the Women's and Child Protection Unit which handled cases of abused women and children. After finishing my studies, my first job was as a Child Welfare Assistant at the Department of Social Welfare and Development, where I served for three and a half years. When I resigned, I decided to train as a caregiver for six months until the pandemic hit. During the pandemic, I worked as a caregiver for an elderly man who had suffered a stroke. As conditions improved post-pandemic, I had the opportunity to work as a Marketing Assistant for a year. My application to Israel was approved and I spent two years there as a live-in caregiver. Subsequently, I moved to Canada to study as a Personal Support Worker. My parents, who are farmers, and my two siblings still live in the Philippines. I'm the middle child in the family. I love dancing and singing but not a good singer.
Taking good care of our elderly is one of my greatest pleasure, they will always be in my heart. I was raised by a grandparents until my grade school the reason why serving and caring them is my passion.
First I was a short term caregiver to an old man with a mild stroke in the Philippines and then when the opportunity came which is being a caregiver in Israel I grab it.
I was a 2years live-in caregiver in Israel, being in the healthcare services is not new for me. I was a caregiver of 72 years old with leukemia. I just stop working in Israel because this study here in Canada came and I grab it to upgrade my knowledge in helping helping our elderly.
