Hello! My name is Shelley. I am a seasoned healthcare professional based in Ancaster with 28 extensive years of experience. Since my teenage years, my career choice became clear as I developed a profound passion for assisting and caring for people. This passion led me to start my career in 1994 at Macassa Lodge. I initially worked part-time for seven years across diverse care units. Later, I transitioned into a full-time position where I was caring for Alzheimer's patients, an experience I found extremely rewarding. As a dedicated and compassionate professional with a robust background, I've provided various types of assistance. These include oxygen administration, ambulation support, bathing and toileting assistance, meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, errands, patient positioning, Alzheimer/Dementia care, palliative care, and more. I've also had the privilege of working with patients diagnosed with various health conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Diabetes, Cancer, and others. I hold a Health Care Aide (HCA) Certificate and possess vast familiarity with home healthcare settings. Currently, I am looking to find a fulfilling full-time role as a caregiver or a personal support worker. As someone who values genuine relationships, my previous roles have been filled with meaningful conversations and uplifting moments with residents. These experiences have made an indelible impact on me. I am firmly committed to providing the best possible care, ensuring safety, and providing comfort for all my patients. Despite my busy work life, I find immense pleasure in spending time with my four grown children and three grandchildren, whom I deeply love. I firmly believe that my life experiences make me more compassionate and understanding when working with the elderly.
