In good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Demonstrates effective leadership and communication skills and the ability to direct and supervise non-registered staff. Demonstrates knowledge of general nursing theory, sensitivity, practice with emphasis on geriatric nursing (seniors and their families). Demonstrates ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice per the College of Nurse of Ontario. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients/clients, families and other members of the health care team. Demonstrates ability to set priorities and organize work in response to residents' needs. Demonstrates expertise working with geriatric patient population, knowledge of medications uses and side effects. Demonstrates knowledge of transfers and lifts. Demonstrates commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement. Basic skill level with computers, MS Word, Internet searches, data entry and patient information systems.
