Hello my name is Jessica nice to meet you! You may wonder the origin of my last name; this would give you abit of information about my background. My dad is portuguese and my mom is Chinese, I am able speak cantonese but not so much portuguese since growing up learning French was the cirriculum and if often confused me. Anyways, I have 3 children who are ages 9, 13, 22. The 2 youngest are my step kids whom I love dearly. We like to do family things like camping, bicycling, baking and hiking. I am a very family oriented individual and enjoy providing care for them like preparing dinner together, attending their singing concerts and baseball games. My eldest has moved out but I see her quite often as she is my neighbour in the same townhouse complex. She misses her mom and often comes for dinner or just hang out. This likely seems that I am more like a childcare provider and a housekeeper which I often enjoy doing but my qualifications as a healthcare aid gives the qualifications to care for the elderly. So am I really able to apply both catergories for employment purposes. I would say cooking is a hobby I have as I was also formerly a cooking instructor for Vancouver School Board night school. I have lots of catering and kitchen experience.

I am a newly graduated Healthcare aide, finished my studies at Capilano University and registered with the BC Care Aide Registry. I worked as a Healthcare support worker while at school and am currently working as a care aide casually due to seniority-reason I am seeking a full time job. If given the opportunity I would enjoy providing care for an elderly in their own home and use my skills to supportas best as I can. I can also speak cantonese fluently and have a good understanding of the culture.
