Being raised in the countryside I have experience caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, chickens, owls, crows and more. I even got to aid in vet surgical procedures. As an adult, there has always been cats and dogs so I'm used to cohabiting with them. I will adjust to your companion's need and cares.
