So we have come to the realization that there isn't enough hours in the day to be with our daughter, be a family, work, and maintain a house.
We are looking for some one who can come in and help do what the grandmas have been helping with.
Mom is a professional with a demanding job and works downtown 2x per week.
Dad runs a startup and has flexible but busy schedule. Mostly works in the house.
We have chosen to place priority on spending time as parents and on our relationship (family time together). This makes things such as household chores, meal prep, etc. last on the list.
A typical week for us looks like:
M-F
7am - 8am: Tag team getting Emmy ready for daycare then dad takes Emmy to daycare - home by 830 / 9
3:30pm - 5:30pm: Dad picks up Emmy, brings home, fix afternoon snack, play/park/errands
5:30pm - 6pm: playtime as a family - generally one parent makes dinner while child plays with other parent.
6:00 - 6:30 pm: dinner
6:30 - 7:00 play time
7:00 - 7:30 Prep for bed
7:30 - 8:00 bed time
8:00 - 9:00 family time
Mom
9:00 - 9:30 mom get ready for bed and in bed by 9:30
Dad
9:00 - 12:00 dad works and get caught up on calls with west coast and overseas clients.
On Tuesday / Thursday Mom goes to work downtown and is home on the 5:45 go train so baby and dad pick her up and are home about 6:10.
So basically the idea is to help with the chores, meal prep, dishes, etc.
We are thinking that you would arrive around 3 and leave about 7.
Each day would be:
- one or two areas of the house cleaned and or a load of laundry
- organize an area of the house
- clean kitchen from the day
- prep dinner
- clean up after dinner
- load dishwasher and run if necessary.
Currently we don't have any pets but within the year, likely summer of 25, we will get a new cat or dog or both. We lost our beloved cat, Walnut, last summer and we aren't ready to let go of her memory.
Let us know if this is something that you would like to help out with.
Thanks
Mark, Katie, and Emmy.
