The said facility is home and convent to RETIRED NUNS with the goal of providing utmost care to the overall aspects of their well-being as seniors. Just like in any other facility, the residents’ needs differ in profile. Most of them have health issues, nutritional requirements, food sensitivities /allergies and personal food preferences that must be professionally addressed and complied with for the betterment of their own health, safety and overall comfort and well-being. There were times I was the one in charge to look after those nuns who preferred not to go out or join certain outings due to their incapacity to do so on their own (i.e., with impaired vision, dementia, Alzheimer’s, on wheelchair, etc). Even at the daycare centers, meal planning based on Canada Food Guide, paying attention to kids’ food allergies /intolerances/sensitivities, organization and timely/ efficient execution of cooking and related tasks have been part of my duties and responsibilities as solo cook. I am a skilled, highly organized, qualified and reliable COOK/ CAREGIVER with exemplary work ethics and amiable personality, educated and very professional. Furthermore, I have an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate (Level 1) and housekeeping experience as added commendable attributes to complement the cook position.
