Live-In Caregiver For 82 year-old Female With Mobility Challenges
We are seeking a live-in caregiver for an 82-year-old female who was recently diagnosed with Vascular Parkinsonism. She has mobility issues, particularly in her lower body. She is originally from the Caribbean. She has lived in the Oak Bay area of Victoria with her husband for 40+ years and had a career as a professor at the University of Victoria for 30+ years. Some important qualities of her caregiver are a friendly personality, flexibility, and a helpful spirit. The live-in caregiver's responsibilities include: Assist with activities of daily living, including: -     administering her medication, -     bathing, -     dressing, -     grooming, -     toileting, -     transferring (providing mobility assistance, such as helping her in and out of bed, a chair, a wheelchair, or her rollator). -     accompanying her on grocery shopping trips -     accompanying her to doctor's appointments -     Assisting her with her daily exercise routine which sometimes will include walks organized by her husband -     Providing emotional support and encouraging her to do as much care as possible. -     Providing her with companionship -     Keeping her as well as her living environment clean and tidy. -     Monitoring and reporting changes in her health, behaviour, or needs. -     Being willing to work flexible hours usually includes waking up at least once at night to let her urinate. No driving, cooking, or house cleaning.
