Caregiver/companion for father with Parkinsons
We are looking for multiple shift coverage care for my 65 year old father who lives with Parkinson’s disease. Tuesday and Thursday: 0830-1830 Monday-Thursday: 1900-2300 Saturday and/or Sunday: 1000-1700 These are separate shifts that could move to more hours if you are an excellent fit. You must be able to work in Canada and have a valid drivers license. Duties include: - administering overnight medication and preparing following day medication - overnight care including: getting him up for the washroom twice a night, assisting in the washroom, cleaning sheets as needed - ensuring he is in bed at a reasonable hour - overnight household tasks - encouraging movement/mobility during “off” times - housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry - completing short summary reports at the end of shift to identify important information (missed meds, falls, unusual behavior, etc.) About my dad: Energetic Funny Musical Outdoorsy Active He likes to exercise, dance, play guitar! Ideal candidate is efficient, professional, and patient. You would be a self starter who is good as a companion and care aid. A little backstory on my dad: he is a very young 64 year old who likes to laugh and joke around. Up until about 13 years ago, he would do the ride to conquer cancer every year (this is a bike ride from langley to Seattle!). He loves to play the guitar and listen to music. Music and dancing help him during his off periods. He’s an outdoorsman at heart who used to love biking, fishing and camping.
