We are looking for someone to take care of my father who has severe dementia. He is currently located in Port Coquitlam and we are looking for someone to care for him 4 days per week from 11 am - 8 pm. The 4 days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. Some flexibility for a later end time may be required from time to time. Tasks will include, preparing his meals, engaging him with simple brain exercises, taking him for walks, assisting with hygiene, transportation to appointments, visiting his children and grandchildren, and providing him with support and positive company throughout the day. He struggles with communication, so patience and the ability to understand non-verbal cues are very important.
