Companion Needed for Family Member with Dementia I am in search for a compassionate, patient and experienced individual to provide companionship and care for a cherished family member living with dementia. This part-time, live-out position will begin from the 24th of October, 2023. Work Schedule: The required work schedule is every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the mid-day and evening hours. The total working hours per week will range from 20 - 30 hours. Job Responsibilities: Primary duties will include planning and accompanying on visits, outings, and trips to visit out. We would like to keep our Aunt busy with fulfilling activities. We would like someone who can play games with her and enjoy chatting with her as she has many stories to tell! Requirements: Applicant must have a valid driver's license and their own car for visits and outings. Experience working with Alzheimer's or dementia patients will be highly considered. This position requires a person who understands and sympathizes with the condition, is extremely patient, and adept at managing the changing needs and behaviors of those with dementia. As part of this role, I am looking for someone who can schedule walks, engage in games, make regular trips to the park, and provide general companionship. The goal is to offer a break to our devoted in-laws who have been shouldering the primary care responsibilities. Most days my inlaws will also be at home but may schedule their own appointments while you are able to spend time with my aunt. NO household chores. My aunt is able to bathe herself and go to the restroom alone. She just needs a loving friend.
