I am currently in need of a Personal Support Worker to provide assistance and companionship to my aunt who will be staying in Gatineau from Sunday, 10th of December to Saturday, 16th of December 2023. She will require companionship during the day and some assistance overnight. Although she can get around with her walker, she occasionally requires help going to the toilet during the night. Aside from giving her assistance, companionship is also crucial during the day as we can't stay with her due to work commitments. My aunt experiences symptoms of dementia which occasionally leads to disorientation. Therefore, it is vital for the candidate to have prior experience working with dementia patients. You may be required to provide Alzheimer/Dementia Care, Meal Planning/Preparation, and run the occasional errand. While a driver’s license may not be necessary, it is expected that the hired professional use their personal automobile, if needed, to get to and from our house. Given the extensive care my aunt needs, the work commitment is greater than 50 hours/week, structured typically during the middle of the day and night from Monday to Sunday. This position is currently offered as a Live-Out part-time role.
