I am searching for a caregiver for my 74-year old mother. She has had a stroke that has left her hemiplegic and wheelchair-bound. She is currently in an in-patient rehabilitation facility and then she will be coming home to live with me and my family. We are a close, loving and supportive family, and we are looking for an experienced, capable and compassionate senior caregiver. We live in Burnaby (near Metrotown/Garden Village area).
Here are our needs:
· A full-time, live-out senior caregiver
· 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri ~8:00am to 4:00pm)
· Jobs: Personal care, lifts and transfers from bed to wheelchair/toilet (she is less than 100lbs), toileting assistance, medication assistance, dressing/grooming, meal preparation and feeding assistance, range of motion exercise, escort to outpatient rehab appointments, light cleaning.
Ideally we would be looking for a caregiver that is searching for a long term position and who is interested in connecting with my mother and our family. We see this role as an extension of our family and are seeking a warm, loving, caring person to support our family matriarch.
I am hoping to connect with and secure care for my mother within the next couple of weeks as she will soon be discharged from the rehabilitation hospital.
