Hello! My name is Donna, I am a 2nd year University student at UBC. I have a lot of experience looking after family and family friends ranging from ages 1-12 years old. I additionally was part of a group of students in highschool (3-4 of us) who looked after the children of teachers while they had after school meetings or teacher development days. The hours were either 2 hours once a week regularly and occasional 8 hour days and there were approximately 20-30 children ranging from 1st grade to 5th grade. There were some children with difficulties and I would help them with homework and made sure no one was left out. I love (and am historically good at) connecting with kids and offering a fun safe environment for them to learn and grow. I love making people happy and comfortable in general and I would be more than happy to help! I am someone who is committed to everything I do and while my hours are somewhat limited on some days, there will be times I can be called on short notice. I have taken care of the children of family and family friends for multiple years. Additionally I was a volunteer in highschool along with 3-4 other students that would look after the children of teachers consistently for two hours every week, and occasionally we would work 8 hour days on teacher development days. There were around 20-30 children (varying on different weeks) and they were all between grades 1-5.
