This role is ideal for someone who lives very close by, because the care visits are just short. The patient (my mom) is 93 and in palliative at home with her 94 year old husband. She does not suffer dementia. Twice a day she needs assistance with toileting, peri-care and change of diaper/pull-ups for just short visits. In the mornings at 10 am and then evenings about 8 pm. We can pay for 1 hour each visit, though each visit will only need to be a few minutes.

I am on the hunt for a dedicated and reliable individual to take on the role of a Caregiver for my elderly mother, starting from the 10th of September, 2024. This is a part-time position, requiring less than 20 hours per week, primarily during the middle of the day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The primary responsibilities of this role would extend beyond simple health care to include assistance with light housekeeping, grocery shopping, laundry, running errands as well as providing escort to appointments. The caregiver should be comfortable with using their own car for transportation purposes as arranged on a case-to-case basis. Note that a driver’s license will not be necessary for this position. However, the chosen candidate should be comfortable with fulfilling their role in a live-out arrangement. I am a 64-[/year-old woman with MS confined to a wheelchair. I need help with all activities of daily living, including personal care, although I am fine cognitively. I am looking for somebody that has strong experience on a portable Hoyer lift as my disease has taken away my leg strength and I can no longer transfer myself. You should be fluent in English with good communication and organization skills. You should have cooking and housekeeping skills and be physically fit enough to help me with some basic stretching and strengthening exercises. I weigh about 150 pounds. I have a family which includes grandchildren and have a busy social life. I enjoy art and music and healthy cooking and eating. I live on the seawall close to the recreation centre and the library. I am currently looking for somebody to cover one month vacation of my principal caregiver who will be gone from August 25 to September 26. I currently have somebody working Thursday Friday Saturday and this requires somebody to work either Sunday and Monday or perhaps Tuesday and Wednesday 24 hour shift overnight. The person I hire must be legally allowed to work in Canada and have a social insurance number.

It also would be ideal if this person has flexibility to travel outside of Canada for vacation and medical appointment in other countries around the world.
