Hi, my name is Jaimie. I’m a long-time resident of West Vancouver and an avid people person. I love to be creative and am always excited to learn. Over the years, I have cultivated a palette of interests in fine arts, particularly in music and dance. After being involved in theatre and dance companies most of my life, I've also grown a deep appreciation for botany and history. I absolutely love being in nature and make it a point to go on walks and hikes as often as I can. Also at some point I learned how to bake though I don’t remember when. :)
I thank partially my theatre background for making me an expressive and funny person, at least that's what I've heard from kids! Parents, on the other hand, have expressed that they appreciate how I am safety-conscious, kind, extremely patient, and responsible, all while keeping their children excited and entertained.
After getting my babysitting license when I was twelve I have cared for many children with many different abilities including but not limited to autism and epilepsy. I’ve always enjoyed being around kids and I truly do believe they have as much to teach us as we have to teach them. When I was 14 I became a summer camp counsellor and was given the opportunity to be the primary caregiver of of 8-10 kids around the clock. As I got older I was moved up to the position of program coordinator for the camp which included making sure the games and activities were fun for the kids, safe, and well supervised. Besides all of that I’ve been a second mother to my two little brothers my whole life which in and of itself taught me how to cook (especially healthy things for picky eaters), clean, have extreme patience, and problem solving ability. In the end love working with kids and am in the process of becoming an education assistant so being a nanny is right up my alley.
