I am currently an elementary school teacher (French immersion) with plenty of experience in childcare of all ages.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria, with a double major in English and French. Throughout my degree, I periodically led day camps for young French Immersion students.
After graduating in 2019, I spent the summer in France as an au pair, taking care of young children (1. 5 and 3), and helping them learn English. I then moved to Quebec, where I worked in a high school and two elementary schools as an English Language Monitor, leading activities and games to help the students practice their English. This particular job is what confirmed my passion for teaching and directed me towards becoming an Elementary French teacher. In the years prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a nanny both full-time and part-time and have continued with occasional babysitting as I work full-time in teaching. I look forward to working as a nanny during the summer break.
In my free time, my favourite activities are riding my bicycle, hiking, running, reading, and writing.
I am calm and very positive, and I absolutely adore spending time with young children, hearing their thoughts and participating in the activities that bring them joy. I am a great believer in the wonders of storytelling, so I take care to encourage reading, hearing, telling, and creating stories as much as possible.
