I am a mature mother of a grown son and work part-time in a preschool. I have taken an Early Childhood Education course and love kids, with approximately 30 years in the field. I enjoy looking after babies, as well as older children up to 10 years of age. I am easygoing, and believe that responding to a child's needs is the most important aspect of being a nanny. I believe in being gentle with children, giving both the caregiver and child time to get used to each other. Consistency is important in order to develop a sense of security and trust. Also, being able to pick up on how a child is feeling (eg. active, tired, excited, hungry, etc. ) and being able to respond to the situation is important also.
