Hi, my name is Claire. I have lived in Vancouver my whole life, and have been babysitting since I was 13 years old. After graduating from high school, I took the opportunity to pursue childcare further. For the past three years, I have been making a living though regular weekly babysitting/nannying in Dunbar, Kits, Kerrisdale, and the surrounding areas. I am compassionate, playful, patient, reliable, and responsible, and I really care about the kids I work with. I love witnessing children's wild imaginations and guiding them in their understanding of the world. I regularly engage children in a variety of activities tailored for the child's level of ability, such as crafts, active outdoor play, reading stories, board games, and all kinds of make-believe. In my free time I enjoy singing in a choir, caring for my hamster, and camping. I am currently looking for some afternoons or possibly full days and I am available to start immediately. I have worked for families with 1-3 children, ages 9 months up to 12 years. I also have my Early Childhood Education Assistant license and I am a substitute teacher for 3 different preschools in the Dunbar area. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I have worked for varying periods of time with children with different special needs. These include high-functioning autism, anxiety, Down syndrome, ADHD, and children who are learning English. I have a lot of experience taking public transportation with children of different ages. I am willing to prepare meals/snacks for the children with ingredients provided. I am happy to do some housework, but I prefer to focus on your children and be fully engaged with them.
