Personal support worker
Hi there, I'm Halima, but you can call me Lima. I've been a PSW for almost 8 months now, working in Long-Term Care and Community Health Care. I graduated last year and decided to go back to school starting May 15th, so I need to adjust my work schedule. Unfortunately, my current job doesn't allow me to change my availability until I've been there for a year, which won't work with my school plans. So, I've decided to only to find a job after 4 pm.
A little bit about me: I'm very active and enjoy playing card and board games, which I learned from my clients—I'm really grateful for them. I also love going for walks outside, so if you're up for it, we can go for one daily. Animals are no problem for me—I love them.
I genuinely care for people, and if you choose me, you can trust me completely. I'll treat you just like I would my own parents. I'm a people person and love having fun.
So my main goal is to ensure your comfort and well-being while providing you with the assistance you need to live comfortably at home. Here are some of the things I'll be doing to help you:
-Helping you with daily tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, and using the bathroom.
-Assisting with moving around the house safely, whether it's walking, transferring to a chair, or using mobility aids.
-Making sure you're eating well by preparing meals and helping you with feeding if necessary.
-Giving you any medications you need, following the instructions from your healthcare team.
-Keeping an eye on your vital signs and letting the rest of the team know if anything changes.
-Keeping your home clean and tidy, and helping out with laundry and other household chores.
-Spending time with you, chatting, playing games, or just keeping you company.
-Making sure everything we do together is in line with your care plan and documenting any important information.
