December, 2023 Reference Letter : ALEXANDRA SOUZA SILVA do NASCIMENTO Alexandra was hired October 2021 to be a full time live in Caregiver for our Mother Ida Diana who was at the time of hire 87 yrs old and in the late stages of Dementia. Our Mother passed Dec 7, 2023. Initially the position was for a Companion to help keep our Mother safe in the home while taking care of her personal needs, meal preparation and light housekeeping. Through the years our Mothers condition worsened and she became bedridden and was in a Pallative Care Program where the Doctors and Nurses came to the home along with numerous PSWs through Paramed. Alexandra’s responsibilities increased with the decline of our Mothers Health. She managed all medical staff entering the home. Logged medical information, managed the Paramed PSWs, and also prepared all meals the weekend Caregiver would need for our Mother. When there was a medical emergency it was Alexandra who made the calls for Ambulance and escorted our Mother to hospital until the family could arrive. She was also at the hospital everyday overseeing our Mother’s needs until our family arrived. When new medications or medical pumps were given to our Mother it was Alexandra who was given the instructions by St. Elizabeth Nursing staff. We have received many praises for Alexandra from the hospital doctors, paramedics and nurses. In their own words they have said “she is exceptional and one of the best they have worked along with”. This was a very demanding job physically and mentally. At times she was on call 24hrs a day. Alexandra is a very special person who treated our Mother with Love, Respect and Dignity. She went over and above what the role of a Caregiver required her to do. Our family would highly recommend Alexandra and she will excel at whatever venture she takes on. We love her and appreciate everything she did to make our Mother’s life and passing easier. Thank you.
