Hi! My name is Chiara, I an Italian citizen who moved to Toronto in August (with a work permit). I am very caring, professional, and empathic, I love cooking, going on walk, and playing in the snow. In my free time, I spend time with my partner, cuddle my cats, and explore Toronto. I am currently completing a bachelor in Early Childhood (online studies) which I find very interesting. I grew up in a loving environment as an only child, and attended a Waldorf school until the end of middle school. I then proceeded to study in an International School which allowed me to get a bilingual IB diploma and become a lifelong learner and citizen of the world. After graduating I immediately started working as a nanny and then a teaching assistant with children nursery-5th grade. Once I moved to Toronto I worked for around 6 months in a daycare with infants and toddlers but then decided it wasn’t the right place for me…and now here I am proposing my skills to Toronto families in need of a loving and caring nanny!
Daycare ECA: I worked in the infant and toddler room of a downtown daycare. Tasks included feeding, creating art and sensory activities, personal hygiene (diapering), sleep supervision, taking notes of the events of the day to upload on the communication APP for parents, and record milestones.
International school teaching assistant (Pre-K and elementary school): for 2 years I worked in an international school in Italy. At first I was a cover teacher and helped in all grades from Nursery through elementary. I supported special needs students, taught German, math, art, English as a second language, PE, and much more. My second year was dedicated to the Pre-K classroom where I supported the main teacher with a class of 20 4yo children. We worked on phonics, art, music, PE, mathematics, sensory, and much more.
Nanny: since before graduating high school, I have been a nanny for several families. With one in particular I have worked for many years since their little one was 9 months old (now she is 3 and has a little sister!). As part of my tasks I fed the little one and cooked for her daily, took care of diapering, kept her schedule very organised and helped her transition to falling asleep in her own bed, took her on daily walks to the park, came up with age appropriate activities.
Summer camp coordinator and tutor: I have been a summer camp tutor for 4 years and a coordinator for 2. My tasks included organising all the activities for children aged 2.5-4yo and 5-6yo. Plan the schedules, implement English as a second language, train the other tutors, prepare all the material needed for the 4-weeks of summer camp. It was a lovely experience, probably one of my favourites.
