Emily R.
I’m a creative, outgoing, and kind babysitter with a real love for working with kids. I’ve helped raise my bonus daughter since she was one—she’s now four—and I also have experience volunteering and working with children ages 3–10 through my dance studio and various school programs. In high school, I was a student teacher for a Grade 6 French class and volunteered with the DSBN for a cooking program for younger kids. I’m very hands-on and love coming up with fun activities like crafts, games, and outdoor adventures. I always try to connect with kids on their level and make sure they feel comfortable and understood. I also have personal experience with high-functioning autism through my younger sister. I’ve completed a year of Early Childhood Education and have CPR/First Aid training (currently being renewed). I’m available on weekdays and am happy to help out during the day or evening (just not overnight). Parents often tell me their kids think I’m fun and easy to talk to—and I take that as the best kind of compliment!
I have over six years of experience working with children of various ages, from infants to school-aged kids. I’ve helped care for my bonus daughter since she was one year old, and I’ve volunteered and worked in multiple childcare settings, including dance classes, school programs, and summer activities with children ranging from ages 3 to 10. I also completed one year of Early Childhood Education, which gave me a strong foundation in child development and creative learning strategies. I’m comfortable managing routines, creating engaging activities, and supporting both individual and group needs in a patient and nurturing way. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Qualified Babysitter through Redcross. Qualified CPR and First Aid C
I completed my first year of the Early Childhood Education program, where I gained a strong foundation in child development and learned how to plan age-appropriate activities that support learning and growth. I’m currently taking time off to gain hands-on experience and save up for school, but I do plan to return to complete my studies. During my time in the program, I developed strong skills in planning and communication—not just with children, but with parents and guardians as well—so I can support families in a collaborative and caring way.
