I had worked for 2 families as an English Tutor for 2 very sweet young ladies. With one student, we had worked very hard for her to her understand, speak and writie in English. I had made Flash-Cards to help her with reading and pronunciation using words from the "Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs & Ham" books by Dr. Seus. We'd arrange the cards later to help her form her own new sentences. At first she didn't care too much gor the Flash-Cards, but came to enjoy them later. 😉 My hours here were Wed 4-6pm & Sat 10'12pm I am so very proud of this young lady in everything she had accomplished in the time we spent together in her studies. My lessons given here were only 2 per week Wednesday & Saturday, 2 hours each. When the girls were on Spring Break, I taught Miss Lindsay & Miss Harper Crafts! (Her best friend, another sweet gal I had Nannied for months before). We all had such a wonderful time together. Oh precious memories! ❤ Every day the girls had a surprise new craft to create! I'm happy to tell you all about it later when we meet up for coffee! 😊 😉 My second student was a bit more advanced and was on par with fellow students in her grade. In this position I held, my student was an avid reader with a very good understanding of the English Language. We worked on her spelling with Flash-Cards as I had with Miss Lindsay, using words from the books and novels she read out loud to me. In this position, I'd pick up my student Miss Sophia from school, drive to her home for snacks and then start her 2 hour lesson. Afterwards, we'd head over to the park on foot to burn off energy and have some fun! We'd play Eye-Spy, sing songs and greet neighbours along our way and talk about her day at school. 😊 My hours here were Mon. Tue. Thur. & Fri 2:30 to 5:30pm. I made Flash-Cards weekly from words that they had trouble understanding or spelling; this proved to be quite effective strategy for both of my students. We had many "high-fives" for great efforts given and great successes achieved! Way to go girls! 💕 My time shared with each sweet girl was always very enjoyable. We were serious but had fun at lesson time and laughed through the remaining time together. ❤ Sadly our study time was cut short when mum took ill for a spell ... 😢 Then I did too. Sadly July of 2022 was my last scheduled work for these two lovely young ladies. In the meantime, I've been busy at home moving furniture, re-decorating, removing flooring and base-boards, painting, re-arranging our garage too! It's now time to get back to working with the kids, that's where my heart is at and I miss them dearly! 🤗 * PS. Take care of 3 girls for Vitalis Family (school ages 4, 6, 9) and earlier this year, a toddler boy. When I first met Viki, my duties were to tidy kitchen, do laundry, vacuum house as needed, then pick up girls from school. Most days we spent time playing on playground after school before my shift ended and we later headed home. Some days the girls had activities they needed a ride to and or from like Art or Cooking Classes, Horse Back Riding. My hours have changed in supporting the Vitalis Family; duties these days include to look after their 1 year old boy, engage him in play, singing songs and counting! We go for walks in the neighborhood, visit park nearby, laugh and gigle and sing along the way This little guy warms my heart; I love to see him explore his great big world around him!
