Hello. I am a mature woman with 3 grown children. Over 20 years of nursing care experience including palliative care, as well as having owned and operated a home daycare for three years while my children were still at home. I am very active, hard working and love animals as well as arts and crafts. I believe in a child centered approach to learning as well as building strong interpersonal relationships with my clients. I have my current criminal record check, vulnerable sector, and child intervention check, as well as a clean drivers abstract. I owned and operated a home daycare service for three years; I also subcontracted my services to Wee-Watch Daycare during that time. I took a Good Beginnings Home Daycare certification program through Vancouver Community College; and still carry that certificate. I have also volunteered at a Montessori Daycare as a parent volunteer helper. I have three children of my own who are all living independently and successfully. I took special interest around identifying and working with dyslexic children. I have worked a year contract through the Vancouver School Board as a special education assistant. I also have certification for feeding and swallowing difficulties for children with cleft pallet. I am a certified breastfeeding counselor. I am hardworking, dedicated, and always willing to learn.
