I love children. Child and youth care program at Algonquin College of applied arts and technology.
I began babysitting my 6 younger siblings when I was 10 years old. Being in such a large family (7sisters and 3 brothers) I have learned about working, interacting and playing with children. Utilizing my skills, experience and love of childcare I helped my eldest sister through her premature twin pregnancy. I watch over the children of family and friends. At times I monitor 6 children at once. I have worked as a live in nanny /housekeeper for 1 year to 3 boys aged 8, 10, and 12. My daily tasks included: preparing meals, snacks and lunches, maintaing the cleanliness of the house, organizing and participating in activies for children, assisting with homework, answering phone calls and the door, serving guests and helping the family in anyway I could. and have a positive outlook on life. I completed a one year educational Placement at St. Finnan's Catholic Elementary School. My responsibilities included : • help children on their school work •de- escalting situations •creating games and crafts for teachers •playing and engaing appropriately with students •monitoring groups of students on sleep away trip to Toronto • being a role model to all students and children I encounter • creating educational games and activities for students (i. e. Faction bingo) •grading tests and assinments
I posses extensive experience with child care work. I completed my first year of education towards becoming a Child and Youth Care Practitioner at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. I received an award for maintaining a 3. 6 GPA and I am absolutely in love with the course. I learned how to interact with children in a manner that stimulates their cognitive, social/ emotional and physical development. I am extremely patient and very kind, outgoing and have a positive outlook on life.
