My name Is Tess and I am a 28 year old experienced nanny/ babysitter/swim teacher! I love children and have worked with them all my adult life doing various jobs including camp counsellor, swim instructor for group and private lessons and regualar nanny work. I am an energetic person who believes that developing trust and a good relationship with children as well as families plays an important role in a child's wellbeing. Some personal information about me is that I love the outdoors and doing activities like hiking and camping. I also enjoy swimming and reading as well and feel that play and education are the most important parts of childhood. I have experience teaching children swimming and nannying for kids and babies as young as 3 months old, which i have found very rewarding. Because of my previous work experience, I also have emergency and standard first aid training so your children will be very safe with me. Overnight Camp Counsellor: I have watched over groups of 10 children at a time during my job as a camp counsellor in Ontario. This job was 24/h care and involved basic care such as ensuring their health and safety, as well as promoting good relationships between the campers and identifying potential bullying situations. I also was responsible for planning schedules for activities in the camp and ensuring the safety of all campers. I also participated in the Reach for the Rainbow Program which pairs counsellors with a special needs camper for up to 2 weeks to ensure they are able to participate in and enjoy the camping experience. Swim instructor (multiple institutions and cities) I have worked as a Swim Instructor to children ages 3months- 17 years teaching all skill levels including first aid and lifesaving courses. I also taught parent-toddler swim schools. I am very comfortable with children of all ages as well as communicating their progress or any issues to parents and guardians. I have also taught swimming to special needs children who are on the autism spectrum. Babysitter: When I was a young girl I started babysitting for children in my neighbourhood. I have babysat many different age groups from newborn - 10 years old. I enjoy playing games with children and am always sure to follow schedules given to me by parents.
