Hi, my name is Malaika, and I am 19 years old. I am studying economics at Concordia University. I 'm originally Egyptian and lived there for 10 years. The rest of my life I lived here, in Montreal. That's why I fluently speak Arabic, French and English. I love working with children and enjoy coming up with technology-free games to play with them. I am very caring and responsible, and I also work well under pressure. I have a lot of experience with kids: in Egypt, I volunteered at a small school in the slums, teaching the kids English. Summer and winter breaks I would work at a kids summer camp in a compound in a very privileged part of Cairo, so I have seen it all. I enjoy reading, painting and exercising (gym and running, mostly). To get around I use public transport (bus, metro) and would prefer something close to where I live (downtown Montreal area, but negotiable). I live with one roommate who is my very good friend. I am willing to also help around in the house, cleaning and such. My cooking is pretty limited (I am a university student after all) but I can make a great steak as well as an amazing chicken salad. I have no preferences regarding the age or sex of the kids. Thank you so much for your consideration and hope to hear from you soon.
As previously stated, I have taught underprivileged children English and I have been a camp counselor, if you will, at a summer camp, for all age groups. I also babysit for my parents' friends kids.
Additional Experiences/Qualifications:
It's not that I am unwilling to work with special needs children, I just don't have experience in that area so I don't want to be dishonest about it. Always willing to learn.
French Baccalaureate, total grade of 17. 72/20
