I am a mid-30 year old professional woman who is passionate about inclusion and advocacy, particularly for individuals who have special needs. I work full-time for a charitable organization in volunteer engagement but have always enjoyed and had a desire to do support work and respite care for children and adults with disabilities. I am looking to do this in addition to my full-time work simply because it is a passion of him and adds significantly to my own quality-of-life. Personally, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, sports, baking, cooking, gardening, reading and small DIY projects. I believe that community and belonging are essential components to well-being and an individual's mental health. I may seem reserved and quiet upon meeting me, but I find purpose and value in connecting with others and can be very silly and outgoing.

I am looking to find opportunities working with children, teens or adults with special needs. For 20 years I have consistently been involved in volunteer and work experiences that have kept me connecting to providing support care and/or respite care to individuals who have special needs. These experiences include - volunteering at a therapeutic pool in a hospital, providing summer respite care, working as a PSW in a group home, running the Best Buddies program throughout university, providing attendant care to adults with physical disabilities, working as an Instructor Therapist for Intensive Behavioural Intervention programs and more. As well, though I do not have children of my own, I have nieces and nephews, as well as friend's children who I love spend time with.
