Enthusiastic caregiver with 20+ yrs experience in childcare. I am the 53 year old mother of a fantastic soon to be 20 year old. If I don't get outside a, I can be a bit of a grumpy bear so working with children is perfect as it allows me to do this on the daily...no matter what the weather. I am a professional puddle.jiumper and have mastered comparing inside the lines. I do believe that we learn most everything we need to know in Kindergarten (thank you Robert Fulgum) ! I believe that children learn through play and exploring the world around them. This includes outdoor play, swimming, music, reading, sports and any other activities that are age appropriate. I think communication between parent and caregiver is extremely important. therefore I like to document my time with the children through photography and journaling. I graduated with a diploma in Early Childhood Studies. This is similar the early childhood education diploma which exists in Ontario today. I did courses in child development, psychology, sociology and Childcare. I have First Aid and CPR. Athough they are not current I am happy to update them if required.
