My name is Kimberly and I am going into my final year of my double bachelor's of science in biology and psychology at UBC Okanagan. I am passionate about mental health and currently volunteer as a youth educator on the topic as well as with Special Olympics BC as a clinical mental health specialist. I work part time as a researcher for a psychology clinic and have a research interest in psychological child development. Following my degree, I am planning on pursuing a masters in clinical paediatric neuroscience.

Although not traditional work experience, my younger sister has Down syndrome and I was able to play a big part in her development (which is why I am so interested in studying child development). From a young age I babysit/nannied for families in my community who had children with disabilities. I currently have a 18 month old nephew and a 6 year old niece who I get to spend time with. We like to make cookies, do home science experiments, and play outside.
