My name is Maame Akosua, but I prefer to be called Maame. I am a certified internationally trained Nurse Midwife with 12 years of diverse clinical practice. I am currently pursuing the NCLEX examination to acquire Canadian licensure as a registered nurse. I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa from a well-established and forward-thinking family. I am a fun-loving lady and I have experience working with children. I went to high school, then to nursing college, and finally to the university for a bachelor's degree in midwifery in my home country. I am married with two kids, but they all stay back home in Ghana while I am here in Canada pursuing my nursing program.
I love spending time with kids, reading to them, singing, dancing, and being creative. I am a good listener and very compassionate, hardworking, understanding, and patient. Being a babysitter requires a lot of energy, patience, and love, and I will bring all of these qualities to the table
As someone with a background in midwifery, I have acquired invaluable knowledge about child development, health, and safety. Ensuring your child's well-being is my top priority, and I am confident and competent in handling any situation with care and attentiveness. I approach each child with warmth, empathy, and genuine affection, and I am accustomed to working under pressure. You can rely on me to be punctual, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality care for your little ones while engaging them in fun activities and maintaining a safe and clean environment. I love caring for kids because I have a natural ability to understand their communication, even through their actions, and am skilled in interacting with children of all ages while providing clear and effective communication to parents. I prepare meals and snacks according to dietary preferences and restrictions and am comfortable with light housekeeping duties related to child care.
