My name is Jenna. I am available for occasional evenings and weekends, as well as school breaks (Summer and March Break). I have an Early Childhood Educator background (10+ years) and am currently a Special Needs Educational Assistant with the Peel District School Board (5 years). I have over 15 years of experience working and caring for children from infancy through adolescence. I stay current with the changing needs of today’s children, including but not limited to CPR/First Aid, The Registered Behavioural Technician Course, ABA training, Children’s Mental Health and firmly believe in the power of play based learning. I am able to provide respite work for those children with special needs, tutoring or additional educational support, self-help skills, and more (ie. baking, crafts, wood working). I was an ECE (resigned from CECE in 2022) for over 10 years, and worked in a childcare and Montessori setting. I am currently a special needs educational assistant with the school board and have worked with students with special needs from Kindergarten to Grade 8. This experience includes but is not limited to those with ASD, deaf, blind, mobility conditions, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, developmental/learning delays, and Tourette’s. I am involved with Girl Guides of Canada and I have led Paint workshops and craft nights on several occasions.

I have my Early Childhood Education diploma. In addition, while working full time, I also completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Religion. I stay current in the needs of today’s children by attending workshops and conferences. Some of these include the Registered Behavioural Technician course, ABA for Educators, Children’s Mental Health, Special Education Part 1 AQ, CPR/First Aid, more.
