Charlotte A.
I hope you are having a good day! My name is Charlotte, i’m from Ottawa, and I am searching for a nanny position in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am located near Dalhousie University, so ideally looking for a position in and around this area. I am available to work until June of 2024, and then would be able to continue in August 2024, with the exception of some school holidays (reading weeks, holiday breaks, etc). I have part time availability, mostly on Tuesday-Friday before 2pm but I am very flexible and have some availability in the evenings as well. I am 19 and am studying at Dalhousie University in a bachelor of Management. I previously took a gap year and have worked in many childcare roles this past year, including special needs nannying and supply teaching / working as an early childhood educator in a Kindergarten class. I also had the opportunity to travel for 4 months this past winter and spring. I currently have my G license but unfortunately do not have access to my own car in Halifax. I am fully bilingual in english and french, although more comfortable in english, and I am also fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and am up to date on all of my other vaccines as well. As previously mentioned, I have previously worked as a nanny for two families, kids ages 2-13. Both families had children with special needs, such as autism and down syndrome. I also worked part time as a supply teacher and early childhood educator at local Ottawa schools, working primarily with two special needs kindergarten student. In the past, I’ve worked at a local dance studio taking care of children aged 3-12 after school. I have babysat in the past and have lots of experience with neighbourhood kids, often engaging them in sports, crafts, swimming, or building. I have experience working with older individuals (teens/young adults) with special needs. I was a member of a best buddies program (building friendships with intellectually disabled individuals) for 3 years and high school and was also the head of the unified sports team (sports team including those with and without intellectual disabilities). I love to cook, bake, read, and do crafts. I am able to preform household duties, grocery shopping, basic pet care, etc. I have completed my babysitters course and have my wilderness first aid training. I know basic first aid, cpr, and defibrillator knowledge.
I have worked as a nanny and as a supply teacher for children with and without special needs, ages ranging from 2-13. I have also been babysitting and pet sitting for many years.
