I’m a highly experienced nanny and, at the age of 30, have been doing so for over half my life. I’ve loved being able to care for so many wonderful children and truly feel a part of the families that I have worked with. As a teenager taking care of children was my primary source of income, alongside various other part-time jobs. In my early twenties I took on care roles with greater responsibilities, often looking after children for weeks at a time, until I moved to England to be a full-time au pair in my mid-twenties. I lived with a family of four, taking care of their two young girls, as well as their dogs and cat. I spent two years with them, and can honestly say they were some of the best years of my life. While there, my responsibilities were numerous and wide-ranging, from managing the home to grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry and organising most aspects of the girls’ lives. It was incredibly fun and I loved the experience of getting to be so close with the family. As for my background, I originally attended Pastry School with Business Administration at Holland College, where I had a great time baking, learning and playing for the basketball and soccer teams. After graduation had yet to decide on a clear career path, so worked for a couple of years before embarking on a solo travelling experience to Australia and Europe for 5 months. My time away really opened my eyes to new opportunities and I fell in love with the idea of living abroad. Not long after I returned, I made the move to England full-time as an au pair and spent two wonderful years there. By the time I returned, I realised that my true interest lay in the field of dietetics, so began a degree here in Halifax. Prior to the COVID pandemic I had been working with a family of 6, again taking care of their children and generally managing the household. Since then I have worked in a variety of nannying and service industry roles as I complete my studies. I have been involved in childcare since the age of 12, looking after kids of all ages, from infants to teenagers. As my babysitting progressed, I began taking on full-time roles during summer, where my duties included cooking, cleaning, and caring for the children. Throughout my late teens and early twenties, I continued to provide childcare while parents were on vacation, in addition to regular nannying and babysitting while working full-time. In my mid-twenties, I spent two years as an au pair in England, where I managed the household and took care of the children, handling a wide range of responsibilities; cooking, cleaning, ironing, driving, organizing lives, etc. Upon returning to Canada, I balanced returning to university studies with nannying for a family of six until COVID hit in 2020. Since then, I have been actively involved in various babysitting and nannying roles, catering to children aged 0-12 years of age.

I have completed a Pastry Arts and a Business Administration degree originally when I first went to university out of high school. I am currently enrolled in a Bsc of Advanced Human Nutrition (Dietetics) degree. I have taken CPR and First Aid training in the past, however I do not have a current certificate. I am happy to take a course if desired.
