My name is Alesha, I am 26 years old. I am in a commited relationship of 8 years. I have a background in Nursing and am currently enrolled in a distance college program.
In my second year of high school I took an elective course that allowed me to volunteer at a daycare and work towards receiving my Child Care Certificate. I was involved with making lunches, assisting with potty training, and watching children ages three to six years old. I was promoted after two weeks and my new responsibility was looking after the infants and toddlers. This experience made me realize how much I enjoy taking care of children. After all, something as simple as a smile or an offered hand can help lighten even the gloomiest and darkest of days. I then proceeded to pursue my nursing education, graduating in April 2014. The next few years I was able to work with the elderly population and gain insight into how our healthcare system is run. It was in these experiences that I realized, our healthcare system isn’t designed to promote the patient Nurse relationship. This changed my prospective on what a nursing career would be. I am currently working on my Healthcare Administrative Diploma through Athabasca University.
