My name is Abby, and I'm currently living in Montreal as a student. I am attending McGill University for Art History and English Literature as a rising senior. I am from Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C., in the United States. My previous experience has been as a lifeguard/pool manager at a few neighborhood pools for two different companies. I have been working in these positions since I was fifteen years old. While these positions required many technical and mechanical tasks, my biggest priority was the safety of my patrons—in particular, the children. In the past five years in my job, I have saved more than 15 children from drowning and have assisted countless others with smaller issues like cuts, splinters, or bee stings. I am CPR and first aid trained and certified. My years of lifeguard training have made me well-equipped for many types of emergencies. In my position, I have developed close relationships with many of the child patrons at my pools. Many of them visit the pool all day, nearly every day, and therefore, I have often functioned as a type of babysitter for them. I enjoy my work with the children greatly and take pride in my surveillance and enforcement of their safety. My lifeguarding duties have helped me learn how to discipline children in a way that is firm but kind, as my enforcement of pool rules is as important for their safety as is their opportunity to have fun and enjoy the pool. Outside of this job experience, I have often assisted my schoolteacher sister in working with her students. She teaches grade three. I have come into her classroom on numerous occasions to help manage the children, but also to get to know them and read to them. I have cherished my experiences with the children in my career and am enthusiastic about continuing my work with them. Nannying appeals to me because it would allow me to truly get to know and care for a child (or two, or three). I had a few nannies who took care of my siblings and me over the summers when we were younger, and I look upon those memories fondly. I am still in contact with a few of them today. I hope to give the same positive experience to your children! Side note: I am fluent in English and have over 6 years of experience in French, making me an intermediate speaker—so I should be able to communicate in both languages with your child/children.

Hi my name is Sara! I am 22 years old and I am in my third year at Mcgill university. Currently, I am living with my mother and my twin brother. On my own time, I am usually hanging out with my friends. I actually do have a lot of experience with children as I was a dance instructor, a tutor, a camp counselor and a lunch monitor/assistant at a school. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me a message. Look forward to meeting you! I have been a dance instructor, a tutor and a counsellor and I have worked at a daycare. As a dance instructor, I was able to control a group of children and teach them some choreography. As a tutor, I was very good at getting the child to focus without being harsh. Finally, I was a camp counsellor at a sleep away and at a day camp, both very different but valuable experiences. At the sleep away camp, being with the kids 24/7, you really had to learn how to handle your emotions and control yourself. I think I was always good at that but sleep away camp improved those skills even more. Also, always having to entertain them really made me think of many games off the top of my head. As for being at a day camp both things I just mentioned applied there as well, the difference is, we had to be more hands on with the children. At the day camp, I really had to control everything and make sure no one was fighting and what not. I was equally a lunch monitor and an assistant at an elementary school which was above all else amazing but quite challenging. I believe this position taught me a lot about discipline, being in a school environment where not all kids want to be there, is difficult but truly rewarding once you start to get through to them. I truly enjoyed my time there and got make connections with most of the children which is in my eyes the most important thing. Working in a daycare has allowed me to have experience with babies and helped me become more knowledgeable with children. All of my experiences have each taught me various things but they all have been equally important in the way that I care for children. I am currently in my second year at Mcgill University in the psychology program.

I am a mother of two wonderful, grown children. I grew up in Ontario and Quebec, with my brothers and sisters. My hobbies are gardening, crafting and furniture upcycling. I started babysitting at 14 for different neighbours on our street in Dollard des Ormeaux. After I married and when my kids were older, I worked in the family transport business for several years, and then for the last 13 years, for a Home care Agency and the CLSC. As of now, only private senior or childcare jobs. Others describe me as calm, patient, warm, kind, creative organized and honest, and I do my best each day to live up to these qualities. I would describe myself as a warm, caring, granny-nanny as I am 63. I have raised two wonderful children of my own. While my children were growing up I worked part time and full time babysitting for clients during the week, and after school. The last 15+ years I have been a senior caregiver, for an agency, privately, and for the CLSC. I have a nurse’s aide certificate (PAB) and renew my CPR-first aide every 2 years. I am kind, caring, honest and trustworthy. I am flexible and can work full time hours during the week, with occasional weekends. I am also on board to travel with the family if needed. I drive, and I have a good driving record. I do not smoke, drink or take drugs. PAB/PSW & PDSB certified CPR
