I’m Saori, 34, from Tokyo, Japan, currently enjoying my au pair experience here in Toronto.
I just moved here for a taste of a bigger great city. I'm currently helping a friend with light childcare (her kids are 7 and 10 so my work hours are limited and I'm looking for something full time asap). This move to Toronto, follows a few great international Au Pair experiences that I've had in New Zealand and British Columbia (near Whistler BC where I just moved from). My career in Japan began in early childhood education and led to these great opportunities abroad. I have great references and while English is my second language, I've been operating in English since my first jobs in Japan teaching in International schools and learned English earlier as a child in a Catholic school run by international staff. I’m now looking for a kind and welcoming family where I can continue helping children grow, learn, and have fun to become well adjusted and curious humans.
I’m available to start quickly since I just relocated.
✨ Childcare Experience & Skills
• 4 years as a full time teacher's assistant at an international preschool in Tokyo
• Au pair experience in New Zealand (1 year) and Canada (about 6 months)
• Certified in Child Care First Aid & CPR
• I'm very calm, caring, and organized
• I enjoy crafts, music, and outdoor play with kids
• I'm comfortable preparing simple meals (I have some of my own past favorite recipes for kids or you can share simple recipes) and helping with light cleaning
• I'm experienced in working with children aged 1–10 years
• References available from 3 host families (NZ & Canada)
• I don’t drive, but I’m comfortable using public transportation 🚇
💛 What I’m Looking For
I value a warm and respectful relationship and environment where we can support each other like extended family— not just as an employer and employee. This means I'm very open to being trained on new tasks beyond what I already know but would like an opportunity to learn expectations, take notes, and be given respectful and kind feedback so I can ramp up to suit your family's needs. Knowing one another's routines takes good communication and I'm open to learning and supporting as I ramp with supporting a new family.
I’d love to join a home where kindness, open communication, and mutual respect are part of everyday life.
I’m seeking a full-time live-in position (30+ hrs/week), but can start part-time and increase hours later if needed.
(A location with easy access to downtown Toronto would be a lovely bonus! ✨)
If you think I might be a good match for your family — or know someone who’s looking for an au pair — please send me a DM.
It’s the best way to reach me! 💛
