Hello there! My name is Rose, a 21-year-old psychology student at Simon Fraser University. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Counselling and Human Development. Despite my youth, I am fervently devoted to ensuring the wellness and happiness of those I care for.
My academic pursuit, coupled with obtaining a First Aid certificate, has provided me with a deep understanding of individual needs. I have participated in multiple courses focused on children's mental and physical development, especially those specifically addressing children with disabilities. This has significantly increased my proficiency in this field. This wealth of knowledge enables me to provide the comfort, dignity, and attention that every child deserves.
My ambition lies in applying my knowledge and experience to enrich the lives of those in my care. Throughout my studies, I’ve discovered myself to be more empathetic and passionate about helping people. There’s no greater joy than being a supportive figure in someone's life, and if I can bring a bit of happiness to a child's day, it would fulfill my personal and career goals.
In terms of practicalities, I am currently residing in Coquitlam and am available to start immediately. I offer flexible full-time or part-time availability and can adapt to a variety of schedules from Monday to Sunday. I am capable of comfortably managing up to three kids, offering a range of duties such as cooking, light housekeeping, running errands, assisting kids with homework and organizing events.
I am committed to maintaining a clean and enjoyable environment while ensuring adherence to special dietary rules. I am also capable of assisting with pet care. With two years of work experience, mainly with children aged 3-5, 6-9, and 10 and over, I am confident in my ability to provide a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment.
As a non-smoker who can swim and travel, I am flexible to accommodate your family's needs. I am interested in roles such as Nanny, Nanny/Housekeeper, Mother's Helper, Special Needs helper, Babysitter, Nanny/Tutor, Virtual Babysitter or Home Daycare provider.
My firsthand experience and education have given me a unique perspective that I bring to my work. Being bilingual in English and Farsi could potentially be a great bonus. I am committed to providing all-around support and care to your family and am ready and willing to obtain a police check for your peace of mind. I look forward to the opportunity to assist your family!
Most of my experience in childcare has been volunteering throughout elementary school and high school. I have been a monitor for classes in grades 1 to 3 when I was in grades 4 and 5. I volunteered for reading and learning activities with elementary students for a year in grade 8. In high school, I took courses such as leadership, child development, and psychology which gave me many opportunities to volunteer with children. For example, in my child development class, I was paired with a buddy and did various arts and crafts, games, learning and reading activities.
