Maya B.
I am a passionate and dedicated career nanny with nearly six years of experience caring for children of all ages, including newborn and special needs care. Being the oldest of a large family, caring for others has been a central part of my life from a young age. Over the years, I have worked with many wonderful families in various childcare roles and I am looking forward to finding my next match. I am located in central Calgary, First-Aid/CPR certified (Red Cross, currently recertifying), hold an AB driver’s license with an entirely clean driving record, hold a Police Background Check (can be updated upon request), am fully vaccinated, and have reliable transport to and from work in my own vehicle. I am currently seeking full-time, live-out employment as a Nanny, as I transition out of my current position. Being naturally energetic, silly, and nurturing gives me the ability to connect with all kinds of children. I am a fun-loving and strong-willed individual who is always excited to learn new things and embark on new adventures. I am a nature-lover and huge proponent of being outdoors as much as possible. I love reading, travelling, cooking, and spending time with my loved ones. Being active and trying new things are important to me. Spending quality time with others, especially children and animals, has always brought me great joy, and is truly the foundation of why I have chosen a career centered around childcare. I genuinely enjoy being a positive role model, and enriching the lives of families I work with through supporting parents in ensuring their children are receiving excellent care. I am passionate in my learning about child development, birth work, parenting, psychology, health and wellness, teaching, and so much more. I want to find an opportunity in which I thrive as a professional and am able to create positive improvement in your family life and day to day experiences of your children. I tend to be very open and direct with those around me, and appreciate others who can be the same. Creating a foundation of open and healthy communication and mutual opportunity to build trust and respect is crucial. I understand the gravity of the role I will play in your family, and feel confident in my abilities as a professional to make your life better! I believe in respectful parenting, and using fun to foster learning, communication, autonomy, and emotional regulation skills. I have experience supporting families as they grow and change, whether that be through major life changes or meeting developmental milestones. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any additional information. I love answering questions and I love connecting with new people. When discussing if I am a fit for a potential role, I typically like to have a sense of what you are looking for, and if that aligns, to hop onto a phone call and discuss both of our needs in more detail before beginning an interview process.
I have always been comfortable caring for children, as I am the oldest of a very large immediate and extended family. I have been helping take care of babies and children for as long as I remember. I have had experience working with children of all ages and abilities, and I absolutely love meeting new families and kids. Being naturally very energetic and nurturing allows me the ability to get along with children of all needs. I have continued to help out with childcare within my family, but also nannying and babysitting for several other families over the years as well (I am more than happy to provide references and more detailed information upon request). I have my own vehicle and valid driver's license (clean driving record), CPR and first aid certification (currently re-certifying), and I am happy to get a police background check done formally (upon request).
