Hi there. My name is Maddy and I just graduated high school. I am taking a year off before I go to university to become an early childhood educator. I’ve always really enjoyed being around children and spending time with them. My goal is to find a full-time nanny job for my gap year so that I can have even more experience with kids. Since I am pretty young, I understand that my age may be off putting to some people. However, I feel that my younger age helps me connect with the children even further. I did a babysitting course two years ago where I learned techniques on how to communicate with children and also various ways on how to entertain them. In addition, this course taught me basic first- aid and anything I need to know in case of an emergency. I still live with my loving parents and younger sister, whom I credit my babysitting skills to because my parents would often put me in charge of her from a young age. My hobbies include art (sculpting in particular, skiing, hiking, biking, and spending time with family and friends. I’m a very dedicated, hard working individual and from my previous babysitting jobs I can assure you that children love me. I have babysat many kids in the past, and most parents have asked me to return a second time because their kids really enjoyed my company. I have my official babysitting certificate that proves I am capable of taking care of children. For university I am planning on studying early childhood education, because I love kids so much that I want to work with them everyday.
