Hello my name is Rita. I am a mother of 2 boys. I have 12 years experience working with children ages 3 - 5. I was working in a preschool where my boys attended. I currently hold a Child Development Assistant Certificate. I also have a current police check and First Aid is also up to date. I love arts and crafts and the outdoors. I believe in healthy eating and exercise. I would be happy to help children with homework and school work. I can drive or walk them to school too. I am currently not working. My childcare work experience was a Teacher Aide in a preschool. I worked with children aged 3 -5. I started in September 2002 and due to a lay off this position ended in June 2015. My duties included setting up the classroom depending on the teacher's theme of the week/month. Greeted the children and parents when they arrived. Most importantly about this position was to make the children feel welcome and that they are enjoying themselves. I made play dough for the children. Who doesn't like that. Along with toys the children had sand or water to play with and then a craft to make and take home. Arts and crafts is my expertise. As well we would have snack time (children brought their own snack) and gym time too. If the weather was nice, we would go outside. At the end of the day we would have story time and sing songs. I have a Child Development Assistant certificate, current police check and First Aid.
