Who I Am: Hello, my name is Bria. I am 22 years old, and currently finishing my third year of the Early Learning and Child Care degree program at mount Royal University. Courses are focused on holistic development, professional practices, grant applications, child rights, learning through play, guidance, leadership, program design, and brain plasticity. My practicum placements have been at BabyWorks, Providence, and the Brenda Strafford Society. These experiences have given me a variety of useful knowledge and skills applicable to the world of early learning including working with children who have unique needs, and children who have experienced trauma. My schooling has allowed me to build an image of the child that consists of play-based learning, and emergent curriculum. I believe that all children are worthy, intelligent, impressionable, and resilient. I have loving parents, two elder sisters, and currently live with my common-law partner. I spend my free time hiking, skiing, embroidering, weaving, and doing other crafts. I love to travel, and have been to places including Slovenia, Austria, and Peru. While in Peru I volunteered for two weeks at an after school program for underprivileged children. I am vegan, and I place high value in health, physical activity, nature, curiosity, and playfulness. I have travelled to different countries to participate in women's fight for equality, and putting an end to acts of violence against women. My semester finishes April 5th, and I will only have 1 exam to complete before the end of that month. Therefore my start date could be no sooner than April 5th, with the potential for a three hour period where I need to go to MRU to write an exam if it does fall on a weekday. I will know exactly when in Mid-March. In September I will be starting my final year at MRU, and would appreciate altering my hours to accommodate my school schedule. I will have my next year's class schedule available in Mid-March. For a job that requires solely childcare I will request a lower hourly wage than if the job requires housekeeping, cooking, errands, etc. Qualifications: -Drivers Licence -Current GPA of 3. 85 in Early Learning courses -Level 1, CDA certification -CPR AED Level B -Current police and intervention record checks I look forward to meeting you and your family.

I Have nannied for two lovely families before. One family had two girls ages 2 and 4, and the more recent family had 2 year old twins, a boy and a girl. As a nanny I am professional, reliable, and knowledgable. I encourage children to learn and explore through nature, and taking safe risks. I do not believe in the use of technology in my practice for learning or play with young children. I enjoy taking children on nature adventures, to the science centre, and planning artistic activities. I will explore the children's interests with them while also promoting their development of physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills. I am very conscientious, organized, and dependable.

Currently in my third year of early learning and child care at Mount Royal University.
