Rileyrose M.
Hi there! My name is Rileyrose and I’m a 22-year-old student and cat-mom. I’m an outgoing, passionate and responsible young adult who adores children of all ages. I have experience babysitting and providing care for children of all ages, as well as providing respite/care for children and adults with special needs. I’ve always been very academically driven and loved education and learning. That with a passion and fascination for art, music and general creativity has come a huge appreciation for alternative learning methods - something that served me well in my tutoring days! I’ve taken individual courses on general, abnormal and developmental psychology, as well as birth and infancy. All of this experience and education has done nothing but emphasize my passion for it! I also speak fluent French and am in the process of learning Spanish!
I spent my entire junior high and most of my high school career babysitting for neighbours and family friends, sometimes for groups as big as six children and overnight stays for the occasional parent weekend away! I helped care for my now one-year old niece when she was first born, doing overnights so mum could get a full nights rest, on top of any excuse to spend time with the little one! I’ve tutored 8th and 9th grade math and english, and am confident tutoring all subjects in grades below. I will be attending university in the fall for education and early childhood development which is why I’m seeking these types of positions!
My entire life, my mother, father and grandmother have been full-time caregivers for the physically and mentally disabled, meaning I’ve lived with and helped care for those with a variety of special needs for my entire life! I currently live with my brother who provides part-time respite for my grandmother’s live-in client (a member of our family for the last twenty-five years)! He has severe autism and institutional PTSD/psychosis. Directly prior to this I was living with my mother who cared for two young men full-time, one with down syndrome and one severe FASD. I aided in everybody’s daily routine and day-to-day tasks - meals, medications, outings, etc (and LOVED doing so)! Despite my lack of formal education, these are only the details of my recent experience! I have spent years and years doing exactly this, just not as my own personal career or education until now.
